Our Team
I am Hugh Matheson, known as "Matho", the owner of HM Custom Projects, with extensive experience in the construction industry influenced by my grandfather. I started in joinery but shifted to carpentry, completing an apprenticeship in 2013 and establishing my business in 2020. My military background instilled values of teamwork and resilience, driving me to improve client experiences in building. Besides work, I play AFL, teach carpentry at TAFE, and enjoy time with my family.
Codey worked as an apprentice, trained under Hugh with his previous employer. Upon completion of his trade, he joined Hugh on the journey to establishing HM Custom Projects. A dairy farm boy, Codey has exceptional values and work ethic, a real asset to our team.
Isaak is a former TAFE student of Hugh’s. During his training, Hugh identified Isaak’s eye for detail and fantastic work ethic. Isaak brings a unique perspective to our projects, with his experience from his previous employer, often resulting in more efficient approaches to tasks.
Isaak is an avid basketball player and fan and has even spent some time playing AFL with Hugh.
The hardest worker in our team, not that he would tell you, Tristan is the quiet achiever. With the best work ethic ever seen in an apprentice, he is regularly receiving positive comments from all on site, including clients!
Tristan is a committed athlete, formally a part of the Newcastle Knights system, and now a contracted Rugby League player for the Maitland pickers.
